Process and FAQ

This is how our team works when producing a video. Our process is standardized, but flexible

We adapt our methods to the specific characteristics of each project.

Concept and writing

Powerful ideas, clear words.

In order to explain your product effectively, we need to be clear and to the point We help you define what makes you unique and together we find the right words to communicate to your audience why you are the solution to their problem.

Meeting and discussion

Over the phone or in person, we discuss your project together. Who is the target audience, what are the objectives, the timeframe, etc.

Writing the script

Following our conversation, we propose a concept and a scenario. It is a gradual process where we discuss and refine together.

Art direction and illustration

A unique style that fits your message.

The quality of the visual design of your video is very important. It's what sets your video apart from all the others. It's what will make the viewer press play. Whether your style is defined or not, we will work with your team to produce strong, aesthetic and modern visuals.

Moodboard and other inspirations

We gather different visual and animated inspirations in order to define the artistic paths we will take.

Storyboard of sketches

We break down the scenario into key frames and sketch each one. This way you can have a simplified overview of how the video will unfold.

Creation of styleframes

We create one to three illustrations to define the visual style we will use. You can request adjustments to style, colors, etc.

Storyboard of illustrations

Once the style and sketches are approved, we render each sketch into a final illustration. Those are the images that will be animated.

Animation and edit

Smooth motion with flowy rhythm

Producing the animation

We produce the animation from the illustrated storyboard. Depending on the length of the video to be produced, the delivery of the animation can be done in several parts.

Editing the animation

We produce the animation from the illustrated storyboard. Depending on the length of the video to be produced, the delivery of the animation can be done in several parts.

Voice-over and sound editing

The last step and final varnish.

This is where everything comes alive. The visuals are animated and edited into a video whose rhythm is right and appropriate to the message. As with scripting, we keep only the essentials in order to keep the viewer attentive and interested until the end.

Voice-over

We will send you a casting of male and female voices that could suit your video. You will then decide which one you think fits best.

Music and sound effects

We add to the voice-over the music and sound effects that fit your style and story.

How much does it cost?

There are many variables that come into play; the length and content of the video, the visual style and techniques used, the narration, etc. At the beginning of the project we will ask you a series of questions to assess the workload required to produce your project. That being said, we offer a turnkey product that includes everything needed to produce a 60-second explainer video for a flat fee of $8500. Learn more about our explainer video package

Do you shoot video?

We’re specialized in animation, but we collaborate with different companies in order to meet the requirements of our different projects. If your project requires filming, we will find a solution adapted to your needs.

What area of video do you specialize in?

Each project is unique and we are open to working on any type of motion design and animation project. However, there are certain types of projects that we are most often asked to work on.

1) Commercials and explainer videos

Commercials and explainer videos: Most of our videos are used to sell or explain a product, a software, an event, etc. Motion design is an effective way to attract the attention of new customers and explain the benefits of your product.

2) Awareness campaigns

Not all messages are about selling. The goal is often to make a certain population aware of an idea, to inform them of a new law, to give them information that helps them to prevent, etc.

3) E-learning

E-learning is an effective tool for companies that want to train their employees in an efficient and progressive way. Although most of our e-learning projects remain private, we have had the chance to work on various large-scale projects for companies such as Bombardier, Collège de Rosemont and IOM, the UN migration unit.

How long will it take?

Production times depend on various factors, such as the length and complexity of the project, and the schedules of everyone involved. Generally, for a video that lasts between 45 seconds and 1.5 minutes, we need 4 to 8 weeks to do everything: script, storyboard, illustration, animation, and sound.

At the beginning of the project, we discuss with you the possible delivery dates and provide you with a detailed timeline of the different delivery steps.

What format do you use?

We generally use Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080). If necessary, we can use other formats depending on the message you want to convey and your target audience. For example, the square format (1:1) is popular on Instagram.

We export your final video in two versions, unless you tell us otherwise:

A version in H.264 for streaming on social networks (Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Vimeo, etc.) A very high-quality version in Quicktime ProRes 422 to allow you to reuse the video without losing quality.
